About Us
Virginia Hang Gliding was established in 2012 at Accomack County Airport, offering hang gliding tandem flights over the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
In 2014 we moved to a 25 acre property off US-13 in Painter, VA. This is our own facility which includes a private airfield and hangar to house our planes and gliders.
We are passionate people who want to share an amazing experience with you, your family and your friends.
We offer experiences ranging from heights of 2,000 ft to 5,300 ft (approx. one mile), each one with a spectacular view of the Eastern Shore, Chesapeake Bay, Atlantic Ocean, and the Barrier Islands.
Our team has several decades of experience and its our priority to give you a safe and enjoyable flight.
Meet the Pilot Don Guynn
Don (aka Freeman Sky Coyote) started flying hang gliders at 17 years old.
Don has earned a master hang glider pilot rating through The United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (USHPA) as well as a private pilot certification, commercial drone pilot certification and aircraft repairman certification through the FAA.
Over the past 30 years he has logged several thousands flights and has achieved his 3rd Diamond Safety Award from USHPA.
Don also holds a master rating with the American Ultra Light Association
